\"Horsing<\/p>\n

This cake was a very fun project. I made this cake for the Fall Fair and the theme for the year was “Horsing Around in the Neighbourhood”.<\/p>\n

My two kiddo’s helped me as well. They are really starting to enjoy helping me bake and decorate cakes.<\/p>\n

Since the theme was Horsing Around in the Neighbourhood, I decided that this cake should have a whole bunch of horses doing silly and fun things.<\/p>\n

So I created a cake that served as a park-like landscape and in that park, horses were having a lot of fun, human-style.<\/p>\n

My kids came up with some of the ideas, like roasting the marshmallows on a campfire and playing hula-hoop. Another horse is swimming in the pond and the last one is playing with a ball.<\/p>\n

My daughter made the hula-hoop and this was her idea. She actually won first prize in two hula-hoop contests at the fair two years ago.<\/p>\n

My son was the creator of the ball and the pylon. Decorating a cake with fondant is a lot of fun and a lot like playing with Play-Doh, it just tastes better ;0)<\/p>\n

Around the cake I “wrote” the theme in fondant and I also created a horse shoe in each corner. The little horse shoes on the front of the cake were done by my kids.<\/p>\n

The picture really does not show the cake as well as it looked. I will have to add this to my “Amanda’s Fun Cake Decorating Ideas Vol.2” book where I will have more detailed pictures of the characters and the decorating process.<\/p>\n

This cake won the first prize again at the Fall Fair and I shared the prize money with my kids since they helped me create it.<\/p>\n
