\"KidsIt was my mother’s birthday just after new Years and I could not show up without a cake. We are house sitting at the moment, taking care of a few dogs and cats, so I had to do with whatever was available here.<\/p>\n

Luckily the lady of the house is a bit of a cook as well. At least this is what I gathered from her collection of baking pans and cookie sheets. The oven is great too.<\/p>\n

I found a very cool bundt cake pan, the middle including the bottom could come out, this made it easy to release and clean.<\/p>\n

The cake recipe I have been using all these years is actually a bundt cake recipe and now I finally made it in an actual bundt cake pan!<\/p>\n

The kids insisted that they help decorate the cake so after the cake baking was done, I let them do the rest. I mixed the butter-cream icing and had a look for other things to decorate the cake with. All I could find were candy sprinkles.<\/p>\n

\"KidsThe kids had a ball decorating!<\/p>\n

The cake does not look very fancy, but that didn’t matter. The kids had a lot of fun, which counts for a lot and they may want to help me even more often now.<\/p>\n

The kids have helped me decorate before. If you have been following me for a while, you would know that they are capable of very creative decorations, like the bonfire cake<\/a> they did a while ago.<\/p>\n

The cake tasted great and the center had lots of icing. There were not many guests at the party, so the cake was just big enough.<\/p>\n
