\"ReusableIt is the second week of the new year already.<\/p>\n

Quite often, in cartoons, the new year is shown or drawn as a baby wearing a diaper.<\/p>\n

I thought it would be appropriate to show you this diaper cake, I created not too long ago. This cake could have been be a great new-years cake as well as a cake for a baby-shower or the for the actual birth of a baby.<\/p>\n

I made this cake for friends of ours who were having their first grand child. The cake was their present for the parents-to-be at the baby-shower. I wanted this cake to look like a real re-usable diaper, as our parents would have used, before the disposable diaper got really popular. So the wrinkles on the cake are on purpose.<\/p>\n

For the decoration I again used marshmallow fondant and rolled it really thin, then I used gladwrap to create the wrinkles. To make the cake a bit more colourful and appealing, I added a little teddy bear and a rattler, otherwise it would be a big white surface. Some people suggested I could have added a brown turd at the bottom of the diaper to achieve that \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

The other diaper cake<\/a> I posted about roughly half a year ago, was for people that were using re-usable diapers as well.<\/p>\n

I love the idea of people using re-usable diapers, I have used them as well for my kids and the reason was not just for the environment. It was cheaper than disposable diapers as well. You just need a good routine of washing them.<\/p>\n

The parents and grandparents were really excited to see the cake and I am sure there was not much left of it after the baby shower.<\/p>\n

My best friend is pregnant at the moment with her first child, so I will probably be making another baby shower cake soon.<\/p>\n
