I’m Amanda van der Gulik, from CleverDoughCakes.com Normally, I make videos showing you how I love baking and decorating cakes with my kiddos and inspiring you with fun cake decorating ideas and yummy and easy cake and icing recipes.
But today’s video is a little different. I’m an ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome) survivor and because of my damaged lungs I am now one of the vulnerable covid 19 groups that needs self-isolation and social distancing to keep me alive, healthy and strong.
Not just because it would be life threatening for me personally to contract the coronavirus (my odds would not be good to say the least) but because it would affect everyone around me, my family, my friends, my town … and it would add another unnecessary burden on our already over burdened medical resources.
Adding another patient to their list would not be my way of helping our nation, our world.
And so as an ARDS survivor, I’m doing my part to stay healthy during COVID-19 as best as I possibly can.
And I’m sharing my pesonal ards survivor story with you so that maybe I’ll be able to help inspire you to stay healthy during quarantine too. I really hope some of the ways I’m using to stay healthy will be able to help you and your family too.
