PostsThis blog is all about cake Decorating ideas and so far I have posted quite a few cake decorating ideas and don’t you worry, I have a whole lot more to come. I just wanted to do something a little different this time, and yes, it is still about cakes.
Before you can decorate a cake however, you need to bake a cake first (or you can cheat and buy a ready-made one from the store, if that is you, this post is not for you. Or you may learn a thing or two and you can save yourself some $$ by making your own cakes in the future)
I have mentioned my family recipe sponge cake quite a few times and I have received numerous requests to tell what the recipe is that I use. In my ebook “Amanda’s Fun Cake Decorating Ideas” I actually cover the baking of a cake as well as decorating a cake and go through all of it step by step with photos to clarify the whole process.
Recently, while making a cake for my mother’s surprise party, I actually recorded the preparation and the whole process of baking and decorating a sponge cake.
The video ended up being about 17 minutes long, I crammed it with handy tips and tricks that I use to make things easier for you. I wanted to make sure this video was for cake decorators with various levels of experience.
I have included the amounts of all the ingredients and show you exactly when to mix what and how. If you are an avid cake baker, you will still get some handy tips.
If you have never baked a cake in your life, then this is a very good start for you and you will probably never need to watch another video about how to bake a cake again.
