Hello Fellow Fun Cake Decorating Ideas Members,

I’m honoured to introduce you all to one of your wonderful fellow Fun Cake Decorating Ideas members: Farah Salehji.

Farah has only just recently beganΒ decorating cakes and her creations are simply beautiful!

I had the chance to talk to Farah about her passion for decorating cakes.

She was very happy to share her passion for cake decorating with us and share some of her cake decorating tips withΒ you.

===========================================================

Amanda:Β  Thank-you Farah for sharing your cake decorating passion and talent with us. I’m honoured for you to be my first ‘showcase’ on our Fun Cake Decorating Ideas blog. You are the perfect fit, a fellow woman who is just starting out and following her passion. We need to support each other!

Farah: Hi Amanda, Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity to tell you a bit about myself and for promoting me in your blog. It’s a great chance for new business person like myself to share my pictures and experiences in your well reputed blog.

Amanda: How long have you been decorating cakes?

Farah: It’s not been too long though. I have just started decoratingΒ cakesΒ a year agoΒ as a hobby that’s now turning into a small business.

Amanda: Wow! I’m shocked that you only just started a year ago! You have a wonderful natural talent. I’m so excited to show case your talents for you! What do you like most about decorating cakes?

Farah: I love to challenge myself with creating something different than others. However, I like to keep my cakes home-made-kind andΒ simple by not adding too many patterns and figures making them overly fancy. The best thing about decorating cakes is using different tips andΒ I love to use all of my decorating tips and my most favorite one is the Rose tip. Also,Β I think a cake is best decorated with sugar flowers.

Amanda: Farah thank-you for letting me share some of your favourite cakes with our fellow members. Here they are:

Chocolate Ganache Sharp-Edge Cake CoveredΒ with Blue-Colored Fondant Decorated with a Cute White Peony

Chocolate Basket Cake

Grandma’s Candy Jar

Chocolate Ganache Cake for a Client’s 1 Year Kidney Transplant Anniversary

Amanda: What’s the hardest cake you’ve ever made?

Farah: I faced difficulty in covering my cake with marzipan for the first time as the texture is quite different from fondant. But because it tastes great, I always use marzipan to cover most of my birthday cakes and they are loved by everyone.

Amanda: Do you enjoy eating cake? Oddly enough there are a ton of cake decorators that are not actually all that fond of actually eating cakes, I’m one of them. I like the cake that I make, that I have up on YouTube, but I’m not a huge fan of other flavours. Weird right? Now give me a bag of chips and they’ll be all gone in an instant! tee hee

Farah: I am just like you Β I only like the cakes I make and I am really choosy about eating any other cake. And yes, I do love to eat chocolate cake.

Amanda: Do you decorate cakes as a hobby or as a business?

Farah: I started it as a hobby but now I take orders for friends and family.

Amanda: Do you run your business from your home or in a business kitchen/restaurant/bakery, etc.? Do you have your own website where we can see more of your beautiful creations?

Farah: I live in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and work from home Β Please do visit and like my facebook page. You can view my Facebook pageΒ or follow me on Instagram.

Amanda: Do you have any videos that you’d like to share? or recipes, etc.?

Farah: Unfortunately I don’t have any videos but would love to and promise to contributeΒ any recipe on your website later on.

Amanda: That’s very sweet of you and I will be honoured to post your recipes for you on my blog. I am looking forward to watching your videos too once you get that far.

I’m not sure if you know much about me, a quick Google search will give you a bit of an idea, but in short, I have a sincere passion for empowering others, especially children, teens and fellow cake decorators to find a way to earn a living following their hearts, natural talents and passions.

I do this through my cake decorating website and Facebook page and also through my main website, Clever Dough Kids, where I focus on teaching kids and teens how to set goals, find fun ways to earn their own money and then teach them how to manage it so their money works hard for them.

If you have any kids of your own (or even if you would like to learn these tricks yourself), you might like some of the free tools I give away to parents on my site, feel free to check them out and share them if you like.

I love the idea that we can earn a living doing the things we love to do, like decorating cakes! πŸ˜€ Why bake and decorate a cake and only get paid for it once when you can get paid for the same cake over and over again! I’ll write up a special blog post about how I do that in the near future for you.

Farah: Oh my God, Amanda. It’s lovely knowing all this about you and the only words I have in reply to your introduction is : I love you. God bless you my dear friend.

Amanda: I hope you will take this fun post and proudly share it with your family, friends and cake fans…and of course customers! πŸ˜€ You are an inspiration to us all!Β Thank-you so much for taking the time to share your talents with us.
