Easter is still fresh in our minds, so I decided to post about another cake that would suit Easter very well. Last week my post was about an egg, this week my post is about a chicken or a hen. Does this solve the age old question: “which was first, the Chicken or the Egg?” ;0)
I actually made this Hen or Chicken Cake for a Hen’s night. If I hadn’t told you, you would have thought it was an Easter cake.
This cake can easily be transformed in a bit more Easter-ly cake with the addition of some chocolate Easter eggs laying around instead of the fondant eggs and a nest from straw or fondant looking like straw and voila.
This cake was a great project to make and I really got to be creative. It was my present for the hen’s night of one of my friends mother.
The cake is made of two round sponge cakes and coloured marshmallow fondant. This is one of the cakes that is described in more detail in my book “Amanda’s Fun Cake Decorating Ideas Vol.1“, which is available Here
